THE IMPORTANCE OF LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION IN THE PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT OF TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS
Abstract
It should be emphasized that type 2 diabetes mellitus remains one of the most widespread chronic metabolic disorders worldwide. In this regard, lifestyle modification plays a crucial role in both prevention and disease management. Moreover, unhealthy dietary habits, physical inactivity, obesity, and chronic stress significantly contribute to the development and progression of diabetes. Therefore, timely lifestyle interventions may reduce morbidity, prevent complications, and improve quality of life. The present article aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the importance of lifestyle modification in the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, highlighting its clinical, physiological, and public health significance.
