Abstract

Musical terminology vividly reflects the historical, cultural, and linguistic development of a nation. This study investigates the etymological origins and semantic features of musical terms in the Uzbek language, focusing on the significant influence of Persian-Arabic and Russian lexical layers. Through a contrastive linguistic approach, these terms are compared with their counterparts in English, which mainly derive from Latin, Greek, Italian, and French sources.
