Abstract

This study investigates the influence of traditional and resource-saving discrete irrigation methods on the growth, development, and yield formation of cotton (variety C-8292) in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan. Experiments were conducted at field capacities (FC) of 70-75-70% and 70-70-70%. Results demonstrate that discrete irrigation significantly reduces water consumption compared to traditional furrow irrigation while enhancing plant height, sympodial branching, boll formation, and opening percentage. By maintaining stable soil moisture levels, discrete irrigation optimizes biological development, suggesting it is a superior technology for sustainable water management and higher cotton productivity in arid regions.
