THE CONCEPT OF «HOMELAND» IN MASS-INFORMATION DISCOURSE
Abstract
The article examines the concept of «Motherland» as a key notion in mass information discourse, its meaning and influence on public consciousness. The author analyzes how the concept of MOTHERLAND performs different functions in different institutional discourses (pedagogical, political, military and mass information). Particular attention is paid to the linguistic means, symbols and rhetorical devices that are used to construct the image of the Motherland in mass information discourse. The study reveals key trends and stereotypes associated with the concept of Homeland, as well as their influence on public opinion and cultural memory.
