SHERLOCK HOLMES-THE ADVENTURE HERO OF WORLD LITERATURE
Abstract
Arthur Conan Doyle is widely recognized as the creator of the legendary detective character Sherlock Holmes, a figure who revolutionized the crime fiction genre. This paper explores Doyle’s life, his inspirations, and the literary techniques that made his works timeless. The study examines how Doyle’s background as a physician influenced his methodical and logical storytelling, particularly in shaping Holmes’s character. Additionally, it analyzes the impact of Sherlock Holmes on detective literature, highlighting how Doyle’s narratives established key elements of modern detective fiction, such as forensic investigation and deductive reasoning. Despite his literary success, particularly toward spiritualism, which contrasted with his earlier rationalistic approach to storytelling. The research concludes that Doyle’s influence on literature extends beyond the Sherlock Holmes stories, as his innovative narrative techniques continue to inspire writers and filmmakers. His works remain relevant in contemporary culture, proving that his contributions to detective fiction were not just influential but transformative.
