A CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS OF MEASUREMENT UNITS TRANSLATIONS IN BOBURNAMA
Abstract
This article presents a contrastive analysis of the translation of measurement units found in the historical text Boburnama. By comparing the semantic and cultural features of measurement units in the original Uzbek text and their English translations, the study reveals both linguistic challenges and translation strategies. The research highlights the importance of cultural context in accurately conveying measurement units and discusses common translation discrepancies. The findings contribute to improving the quality of translations of historical texts and support further studies in contrastive linguistics and lexicography.
