Abstract

This article analyzes the system of kinship terms in the Uzbek language from a linguocultural and gender perspective. The study reveals the semantic differences of terms for men and women, their social and cultural content. The kinship system of the Uzbek people reflects not only lineage relationships, but also the values of respect, affection, responsibility and social harmony in the people's thinking. The article considers kinship terms as an expression of social relations in the language, and analyzes their linguocultural and sociopragmatic functions.
