Abstract

The main challenge in studying early Islamic history lies in the fact that most sources describing 7th-century events were written between the 8th and 11th centuries and were largely based on oral traditions. Since these narratives were often compiled by representatives of different religious and sectarian groups, they inevitably reflect religious and subjective interpretations. Therefore, in analyzing such sources, it is essential to consider the authors’ social and religious affiliations.
