LIBRARIES OF THE ERA OF AMIR TEMUR AND THE TIMURIDS: LINGUOCULTURAL AND HISTORICAL-PHILOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
Abstract
This study examines the development of library culture during the Timurid era through linguocultural and comparative-analytical methods. Drawing on historical sources such as Sharafuddin Ali Yazdi, Nizamuddin Shami, and Abdurazzak Samarqandi, the research analyzes the intellectual environment and the library’s role as a cultural symbol in the Timurid period. Additionally, it explores the artistic portrayal of Amir Timur’s reverence for knowledge and books in Buriboy Ahmedov’s novel Amir Timur. Through a comparative analysis of medieval library traditions in the East and West, the study highlights cultural distinctions in approaches to preserving and disseminating knowledge. The article underscores that library culture in the Timurid East evolved in close alignment with state and spiritual policies.
