EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP IN HIGHER EDUCATION: A STUDY OF LEADERSHIP STYLE PREFERENCES IN KARAKALPAKSTAN AND KHOREZM REGIONS
Abstract
This study explores leadership style preferences in higher education institutions (HEIs) across Karakalpakstan and Khorezm. Using survey data from 420 faculty and staff members in both private and state universities, we assess the distribution and association of leadership styles—Autocratic, Democratic, Liberal, and Transformational—with institutional type. A Chi-square test reveals a statistically significant relationship between institutional type and perceived leadership styles, highlighting contextual influences on leadership perceptions in Uzbekistan’s regional higher education.
