BIBLIOGRAPHY AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN MODERN LIBRARY ACTIVITIES
Abstract
This article discusses the concept of bibliography, its historical development, main functions, and importance in modern library activities. Bibliography is an important field that involves collecting, organizing, describing, and providing users with bibliographic information about information resources. The article explains such concepts as bibliographic information, bibliographic records, bibliographic indexes, bibliographic description, and bibliographic searching. It also analyzes the role of bibliography in education, scientific research, culture, and information services. Particular attention is paid to the transition of bibliographic activities to electronic forms as a result of the development of modern digital technologies and the development of electronic catalogs.
