CHALLENGES IN TEACHING PHONETICS OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO SCHOOL STUDENTS
Abstract
Teaching phonetics in a foreign language to school students poses significant challenges due to cognitive, linguistic, and pedagogical factors. This article explores common obstacles such as native language interference, age-related limitations, lack of resources, and teacher training. Evidence-based strategies are suggested to overcome these challenges. A special focus is given to articulatory and auditory phonetics, supported by recent research. Solutions aim to enhance pronunciation skills and listening comprehension at the school level.
